THE EASTER BOWLING TOURNEY BAIN CAUSES ABANDONMENT (SPJCCUL 10 TUB P*ls33.'> BLENHEIM, April 23. Rain pi-evented the final rounds of the Marlborough Centre's Easter bowling tournament being played to-day. the fixture being abandoned. The 15 rinks qualifying included nine from local clubs, three from Seatoun, one from Newtown, and one from Beckenham (Christchurch). G. Martella's rink did particularly well in gaining nine wins without one loss. Golf The Blenheim Golf Club held a successful tournament on its links yesterday. In the faster Cup, a ninehole match for men. Rowe beat Dalzell in the final at the tenth hole. The Easter Cup for women over nine holes was won by Miss E. Mills, who beat Mrs Morrison one up in the final. Popular Dance More than 300 attended a dance held at St. Patrick's Hall last evening. The financial result was highly satisfactory, and a quite substantial surplus ■will go to the Regimental Queen Committee. A large number of officers and troopers from camp attended. Dance music was played by Rose's orchestra. Anzac Day Service On Anzac Day the memorial service will be held at the war memorial at 10.30 a.m. In the event of wet weather a shor*, service will be held in His Majesty's Theatre. Persona! Mr and Mrs C. T. Smith left by to-night's boat far Wellington. They will return on Friday. Mr N. Gillespie, of Wellington, who Jr. spending a few days at Blenheim, is the guest of Mr and Mrs H. Robson.
