The Prime Minister announced in the House of Commons that Viscount Bridgeman had been appointed chairman of the British Broadcasting Corporation in place of Mr J. H. Whitley, who died last month. Lord Bridgeman has been a member of the Board ot Governors of the corporation since 1933. Mr H. A. L. Fisher has now been appointed to the vacancy on the board. Mr Fisher is warden of New College, Oxford. He was Minister for Education from 1916 to 1922.
