A comment of Sir Arthur Balfour :n an address to members of institutes of accountants, bankers. and ; secretaries at Sheffield, England < reported in a recent issue of the "'Accountant." London): —"I feel very strongly that the time has come when there ha.- been too much shilly-shallying aboa: whit we feel and what we want. The v.ar has had one very bad intluencv on every country and every indiviuua!. that is to say. people have itone away from the really high principles which they were brought up. ana uat:l we go back as individuals and as harness men and as a nation to r-ally higli principles and stand rir:r. cn oar principles, we shall not get anywhere. More and more in future we shall have to stand on principles and rich: , principles, and when we do that, a !o! of the troubles which we to-day into by shilly-shally ins ana ••-.os--'.n? about and trying this and try a tr.at and putting off will be gone "
