ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL Though it has been rumoured that the Association Football Club would go out of existence this year, officials of the club state that last year's boys' team will again be playing, and will be entered in a grade higher than last season. The date of the annual meeting has not yet been fixed, but it will probably be held near the end of next week. Hockey The Redclifls Women's Hockey Club will hold its annual meeting on Monday evening, when Mr H. W. Rogers will preside. The men's club will hold its annual meeting on March 26. Drama Society The Sumner Dramatic Club will hold the annual meeting on Tuesday evening. Returned Soldiers' Association The Sumner-Redcliffs branch of tho Returned Soldiers' Association have begun their social activities by holding the first of their fortnightly dances. This took place on Wednesday. The music was supplied by Red Woods' orchestra. Rugby Football Club A meeting of the Sumner Rugby Football Club was held on Thursday evening, Mr V. Jensen presiding. It was decided not to enter any teams in the Canterbury Rugby Football Union's competitions this season. It was reported that during the last few seasons the club had found it very difficult to procure sufficient players to fill the teams, owing, mainly to there being no employment offering to the young men of the district. As soon as conditions improved, the club hoped to be in a position to carry on again. Golf In preparation for the opening of the 1935 season next Saturday, members of the Richmond Hill Club held a well attended working bee last week-end. Raking of grass from the fairways was completed, and some valuable work was done by the women members in tidying the club house grounds. At a committee meeting on Thursday evening 10 new members were

elected. Discussion took place as to the most suitable method of celebrating the club's twentyrfilth anniversary, and a special committee, consisting of Messrs A. A. Cheshire, C. A. Rattray, S. P. Dalton, and F. J. Pender was set up to bring down a report.
