ESPLANADE AT NORTH BEACH

At a recent inspection by representatives of the New Brighton Borough Council, the Waimairi Beach Progress League, and the North Beach League, it was agreed that the entrance to the beach at the intersection of Beach road and the Esplanade should be improved. The New Brighton Council has begun widening the road for some distance along the Esplanade, and providing more parking space. It is also erecting a brush fence to prevent the sand drift. When completed, both works will be a considerable improvement. The work is being done under the No. 5 Scheme.
