STEAMER DELAYED

* WATERFRONT DISPUTE The loading of the steamer Karepo with produce for Auckland .was delayed yesterday because of a dispute between the waterside workers and the employers. On Tuesday afternoon the men had to cease work at 4 p.m.. although, the men state, there was cargo available. Shortly before midday yesterday the men claimed to be paid for the hour lost the previous day, and on the request being declined they ceased work for the day. As it was raining at the 'time, and again in the afternoon, there is uncertainty as to the reason for the action of the men, it being suggested that the men might have worked had it not rained.
