SAILING OF GOVERNMENT STEAiMER DELAYED (PRES9 ASSOCIATION TELEQIU.M.I WELLINGTON. February 20. The sailing of the Government steamer Matai, which is to visit the Cook Islands with officials who are to investigate the damage caused by the recent hurricane, has been postponed until tomorrow. Every effort was made today to load the heavy cargo of stores and supplies which is being taken to the outlying islands, but it became necessary to delay the departure. The passengers on the Matai will include Mr S. J. Smith, secretary to the Cook Islands Department, and Colonel F. W. W. Dawson. Assistant Medical Officer of Health at Chri.stchurch.
