MEN BURIED IN SLIP
CONSTABLE'S FORTUNATE ARRIVAL ACCIDENT NEAR TUATAI'EUE (PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) INVERCARGILL, February 15. The chance passing of a policeconstable probably saved the lives of two residents of Tualapere. J Mouat and S. Kokay. when they were buried in a slip of sandstone rock while working on the Kaka road, near Tuatapere, this morning The accident occurred shortly after 10 o'clock, and a few minutes before Constable Skipworth passed in his car. He had barely parked his car when he heard a call for assistance and rushed to the rescue. Mouat was buried to the hips, and Kokay was almost completely buried. Two pieces of rock estimated to weigh two hundredweight each were pressing on the latter's jchest. Constable Skipworth freed Mouat, and then, with Mouat's assistance, he dug out Kokay with a shovel. Kokay, suffering mainly from bruises and shock, was removed to the Wallace Hospital, Riverton. Mouat was found to have severe bruises. It was only by chance th.-d.
