AIR FORCE REFRESHER COURSE

The first of the refresher courses for members of the New Zealand Territorial Air Force began yesterday, when No. 4 (Army Co-operation) Squadron began training. The first day was devoted to general flying training on training and service machines, and as the course progresses, this will be varied with the general technical training of an army co-oper-ation squadron. Flight Lieutenant V. J. Somerset-Thomas, of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, is adjutant for the course. The following officers are attending:—Honorary Squadron Leader R. J. Sinclair, Flight Lieutenant H. W. Duffey, Flying Officers F. R Dix. G. Buckley, and J. N. Smith, and Pilot Officers D. Campbell and W. Major, with Captain B. Reekie, N.Z.M.C. Messrs G. Grant and A. Fenness passed their tests for pilots' licenses in an examination by Squadron Leader J. L. Findlay yesterday. They are pupils of New Zealand Airways, Ltd., Timaru.
