Warwick is rejoining the Kakariki at Melbourne after his holiday, replacing Captain E. A. Stein, who is transferring to the Korahui to relieve Captain R. L. Da vies for holidays. Captain E. R. Lowe has taken command of the Poolta temporarily, relieving Captain A. F. Inman, who is on holiday at Auckland. Mr G. E. Langley, third officer of the Opihi, has transferred to the Kaimai. He relieves Mr R. Watson, who has joined the Waipiata, vice Mr V. Miller, who is going to Sydney on holiday. Mr D. W. Williams is joining the Loongana at Melbourne as second officer this week, in place of Mr R. Ainsworth, who is going on holiday. Mr F. D. Johnson has joined the Tamahine as chief officer. Mr E. J. Deed, whom he relieves, will go to Sydney for further instructions. Mr A. J. Loudon, fifth engineer of the Marama, has left the vessel on extended leave. Captain J. Avern, formerly of the Fordsdale, is now in command of the Coptic. Captain W. G. West, formerly of the Matakana, is now in command of the JVlaimoa. ' Mr J. R. Keith, assistant purser on the Rangati?a, has joihed the Marama in similar capacity during her present cruise to the Marlborough Sounds. Mr C. Peagram, assistant purser on the Monowai, has joined the Aorangi at Sydney. CANADIAN STEAMERS TO WELLINGTON DIRECT In addition to the ordinary movements of Canadian National Steamships' freighters, two of the company's vessels will make direct calls to Wellington in April and May next. The Canadian Constructor is due at Wellington on April 22 from Halifax, and the Canadian Conqueror is due there on May 20. The ships will proceed thence to Australian ports, New York, Boston, and Montreal.
