MOUNT SOMERK Ther« was a small attendance at the prize giving of the Mount Somers School. Tlio l?nv. W. T. Williams gave an address, and spoke o( the difficulty the country children have in getting secondary education, but impressed upon tlio parents tlio desirability of obtaining a secondary education for their children if at all possible. Mr F. I'eter distributed the prlr.es to the children, who also received sweets and icecreams. In addition to the merit awards, each rhild in thn school received a prize. A pleasing little ceremony took place when Joan Gardiner presented Mrs Coumbc '.\ilb a Victorian posy on behalf of the school children. Mr J. Armstrong presided.
