MONDAY i Before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS Timothy Kelly was charged with drunkenness, having been once previously" convicted within the last six months. He was fined 10s and ordered .to pay costs, in dafault 24 hours' imprisonment. FINE FOR ASSAULT Charles James Fox, aged 39, was charged with assaulting Douglas McGwire on December 22. He had been three times previously convicted of assault. Fox was lined £5 and ordered to pay costs. OBSCENE LANGUAGE Leonard Keith Aldridge, a miner aged 24 (.Mr A. -I. Cottrell), pleaded guilty to drunkenness and to using obscene language in Allen street on Saturday. m He was sentenced to 24 hours imprisonment for using obscene language and fined 10s and ordered to pay costs for drunkenness, in default 24 hours imprisonment. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE For attempting to commit suicide, a man, whose name was ordered to be suppressed, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence within six months if called on.
