* WEATHER STOPS ATTEMPT ON RECORD (Received December 23. 8.30 p.m.) KANSAS CITY, December 21. Strong cross winds prevented Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith from completing an attempted record flight from Burbank, California, to New York. He landed here at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, having left California at 6.40 in the morning. He will remain overnight, and then fly to Cincinnati, going to New York later. Sir Charles is accompanied by Mr H. E. Walker, a Californian rancher.
