DENIAL OF AIR MENACE
GENERAL GOERING'S STATEMENT DESIRE FOR PEACE BERLIN, December 20. "British fears of a German air menace are absurd,' said Geneial Goering, Minister for Aviation, in a special interview. "Germany only possesses some trial machines. Talk of hundreds of military aeroplanes is ridiculous, while our passenger aeroplanes are not convertible. "Germans ardently wish England and Germany to remain firm friends on a basis of equality.'' General Goering saw no international problem in 1935, which could not be settled peacefully. He added that the Storm Troopers were loyal to the Government, and there was no possibility of a repetition of the June "purge." | He denied that he and Dr. Paul Goebbels. Minister for Propaganda, were at daggers drawn. The German Cabinet was the most united in Europe.
Germany's economic position was improving.
