MUSICAL RECITAL A pleasant evening was spent at the band room on Thursday, at the annual recital by the pupils of Miss Eva Mackle. Miss Joyce Hay ward, on behalf of the pupils, presented Miss Mackle with a bouquet, and Miss Moira Clark presented a small gift in appreciation of Miss Mackle's kindness and perseverance. The programme was as follows:—Pianoforte duets, "Lilliputian Parade," Joyce Hayward and Moira Clark; "Flight of Gipsies" (Hamme), Jean Thomas and Eva Mackle; pianoforte solos. "Crescendo," Phyllis Smith; "Moment Musical," Betty Borthwick; "Rob Roy March," Phyllis Workman; "Les deux Alouttes," Jean Thomas; "Happy Youth," Moira Clark; "Nodding Ferns and "Songsters in the Boughs," Joyce Hayward; "The Love Refrain," Phyllis Smith; "Romanesque," Betty Borthwick; "Arrival of the Brownies," Phyllis Workman: "Barcarolle" (Rubinstein), Jean Thomas; "Dance of the Dewdrops," Joyce Hayward; songs, "Big Lady Moon" and "Smiles," Moira Clark; "A Blackbird in My Garden," Joyce Hayward; "Homeward," "Only the River Running By," and "Bless the House," Miss A. E. Flower. Miss Mackle's pianoforte solo was "Fantasie Impromptu" (Chopin).
