FUNERAL
MR ALFRED MANHIRE The funeral o£ Mr Alfred Manhire, who was district inspector in Christchurch of the National Mutual Life Association, left his residence, Paparoa street and Rayburn avenue, for the Sydenham Cemetery yesterday. There •were many friends and members of local bodies with whom Mr Manhire was associated present. The chief mourners were Mr and Mrs H. Manhire, Mr and Mrs Max Manhire, Mrs Olive Tonkin, Miss Juanita Manhire, Mrs J. W. Turner, and Mr Morton Manhire. The service was conducted by the Rev. F. T. Read, assisted by the Rev. W. Grigg. VERDICT AT INQUEST O>B»SS ASSOCIATION tILIOIAMj OTAKI, December 21. An inquest was held as to the death Of Alfred Manhire, an insurance agent, of Christchurch, who fell from the Auckland express on Tuesday night. A verdict of death from a dislocated neck, resulting from a fall, was returned.
