HEATHCOTE NEWS
METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL There was a large attendance of parents and friends when the scholars ol' the Heathcote Methodist Sunday School received the prizes won during the year. An address was given by the Rev. I'. T. Read. Mrs Harris presented the following prizes:— Intermediate Girls—Jean Johnstone 1, Ethel Silcuck 2, Margaret Tulloch 3. Intermediate Boy«—lngram Shrimpton 1, William Burnell 2, Alex. Laing 3. Junior Girls—Ruth Burnell 1, Rae Watkins 2, Gloria Laurie 3. Junior Boys—Alex. Tulloch 1, Philip Silcock 2, Reg. Shrimpton 3. Primary Girls—Phillis Laurie, Eda Stevens, Thelma Tilling, Marion Dickey, Thelma Bloxham. Primary Boys—Bruce McLeod, Neville Watkins. Kindergarten Girls —E. Laurie, Evelyn Salt, Laurel Tilling, Ngaire Campbell, Deborah White, and Coyla RedclifTe. Kindergarten Boys—Cyril McLeod, Norman Watkins, Noel Calcutt, Laurie Laing, Bruce Lindross, Gavcn Amer, Billy Bloxham, Teddy Bloxham, Neville Oetgen, and Norman Dickey. A successful bazaar to raise funds for the annu 1 picnic was given by the boys and girls of the school, under the direction of Mrs Shrimpton and Mrs Ramon. The bazaar realised more than £22.
