BIG DIVIDENDS AND LOW WAGES

REVELATIONS IN CANADIAN TEXTILE TRADE (Received December 21, 11.10 p.m.) OTTAWA, December 20. Dividends as high as 118 per cent, in the textile industries were revealed before the Price Spreads Commission, and wages as low as two dollars a week, with an average of five dollars 40 cents. Mr Sam Factor, a Liberal member of the commission, declared that the revelations illustrated the folly of high protection for textiles.
