•■- -♦- - DAIRY COMPANY j A meeting of the directors of the Kaikoura Co-operative Dairy Company took place on Wednesday. Present: Messrs P. S. Humm (chairman). If. Ashby. P. W. Adair, .1. A. Mackle. W. DaJzell. A. Keenan. and J. J. Harnett. A letter was received from the Department of Agriculture asking what were the most suitable open months for Kaikoura. It was recommended that July and August be the open months in which suppliers may decide on which factory (hey intend supplying. It was decided to pay out 7 ; UI petlb for butter-fat supplied during November. Mr C. P. Agar attended the meeting and gave an informative? address, dealing with the question of quotas, new marketing possibilities, ghee manufacture, tariff barriers, and the Ottawa agreement. At the conclusion of his remarks it was unanimously decided to support the quota system al. Ihe conference to be held in Wellington next week. Tennis Dance The Kowhai Tennis Club held an enjoyable dance in the Masonic Hall on Wednesday night. The opportunity was taken to make a small gift, to Mr J. Anstiss. in appreciation of his service.': to Ihe club. On behalf of members. Mr K. M. Wareham wished Mr Anstiss all success al, Nelson, where he has been transferred. Music for Ihe dancing was played by Misses M. and E. Wareham and D. Pluck. Mr C. Wareham was master of ceremonies. A compelion was won by Mr D. McPherson. Cricket A cricket, match will be played at Takahanga Domain on Saturday between learns (o be chosen by Messrs F. Hobbs and S. O'Callaghan. Persona! Superintendent. D.
