NEW BRIGHTON RELIEF WORKERS
REFUSAL TO ENTER CAMP A public meeting called by the NewBrighton Unemployed Workers' Association was held in the Pier Hall last evening. Mr H. Burnand (chairman) presided over a large attendance. The workers under the No. 5 scheme who have been ordered to camp, including the 100 who received notifications yesterday, unanimously decided that they would not go to the Ashley camp. ■A motion was carried, "That it be a recommendation from this meeting that any man who by a reasonable excuse can obtain exemption from Ashley camp take immediate steps to obtain such exemption." It was decided to hold a demonstration in Latimer square at 10.30 to-morrow, and to invite unemployed workers and their wives, employed workers, members of the Unemployment Board now in the city, clergy, and others, to attend.
