SALT WATER SWIMMING BATH
«. NEW BRIGHTON SCHEME Unanimous support for the proposal to erect a salt water swimming bath and paddling pool at New Brighton was offered at a meeting of the New Brighton Borough Council last evening; but it was stated that the council could not bear any great expense. A motion was carried expressing willingness to collaborate with the Christchurch City Council in con-lering the proposal, provided a full report on the cost is furnished before any comment is made. A letter was received from the Natural Attractions Committee supporting the proposal and also a suggestion for the formation of a coast road from Styx to the Estuary. It is proposed that the baths be run under a system similar to that used for the Municipal Golf Links. The council referred the proposed construction of a coast road to a sub-comnfittee.
