SOCIAL AND PERSONAL Mrs V. G. M. Raymond and her children (Beverley road) have returned from a visit to Mrs Webb (Christchurch). Mrs W. H. Walton (Park lane) has returned from a visit to her sisters, the Misses McHutcheson (Dunedin). Miss_ Tripp and Miss Orford. who were at "The Bungalow," Wai-iti road, have returned to Orari Gorge. Miss Marjorie Edgar Jones ("Otiritiri") returned yesterday from a visit to Christchurch. Miss Margaret Johnstone ("The Hossack," Hanmer Springs), is the guest of Miss Margaret Mac Lean. Waimate. Mrs E. Gebbie (Christchurch) is staying with Mrs C. S. Bruce, Douglas street. Mrs E. Thompson ("Beverley House") has returned from a visit to Te Kuiti. At the home of Miss Dorothy Walton (Park lane), on Saturday, members of the Glee Club of the South Canterbury Women's Club made presentations to Mrs N. D. Mangos and Miss Marion Hay as a mark of appreciation of their assistance during the last year. Mrs Mangos trained club members in the singing of its glees, and Miss Hay acted as accompanist. Japonica and daffodils were used to decorate the rooms, and a musical competition was won by Mrs W. I. Tail.
