Mr and Mrs Keith Ower (Tomes road) have returned from a holiday abroad. Miss Edna Lipscombe (Invercargill) is spending a holiday in Christchurch. Mrs Urquhart and Miss Phyllis Urquhart (Shirley) will leave today to spend a fortnight's holiday at One Tree Hill, Parnassus. Mrs F. Archey (Colombo street), who, for the last three months, has been visiting her son, Mr Gilbert Archey (Auckland), will return to Christchurch on Saturday. At a meeting of the organising committee held yesterday final arrangements were made for the annual ball of the Marist Brothers Old Boys' Association and Catholic Clubs. This year the ball will be held in the parish hall, Barbadoei street, which has been specially prepared by the decorations committee. The engagement of the Bailey-Marston orchestra will add to the many attractions for which this ball is noted. One of the features this year will be the dancing exhibitions by leading local performers. The special arrangements should ensure a large attendance at the ball on Thursday night.

TRAMPING CLCB'S DANCE The Te Hapu Koa Tramping Club' held its annual dance at Melody Lane on Saturday evening.
