Harbour Light Theatre "The Wedding Rehearsal," a United Artists picture, which will be screened at the Harbour Light Theatre to-day, is a gay comedy-romance of a Guardsman who, busy arranging marriages for his friends, is himself caught. Roland Young heads the cast, which includes George Grossmith, Merle Oberon, and Wendy Barry. Also on the programme is another of Walt Disney's magnificent silly symphony cartoons in colour, "Santa's Workshop." Several interesting short subjects complete a first-class entertainment.

Ambulance Meeting The first annual meeting of the Lyttelton sub-centre of the St. John Ambulance Association was held in the Seamen's Institute last evening. There was an attendance of eight members, the Mayor (Mr W. T. Lester) presiding. The chairman expressed regret at the non-attendance of the general public. He thought that perhaps they had misunderstood the advertisements calling the meeting. He was sure the lack of attendance was not due to want of sympathy with the ambulance movement. The public was evidently content to allow the present officers to continue.

The annual report stated that during the year the motor-ambulance had made 133 trips to Christchurch. The ambulance officers had treated 05 cases of minor injuries, home nursing classes had been conducted, also classes for boy and girl cadets. The thanks of the association were due to Drs. F. J. Morrie, C. H. Upham, and B. H. Gilmour for their services to the different classes. The balance-sheet showed that the | receipts for the year had amounted to £125 0s lOd and the expenditure to £ll7 15s. The expenditure included the sum of £4O 8s 5d for maintenance and repairs to the motor-ambulance. The balance-sheet was adopted on the motion of Mr A. McDonald. The chairman said he did not propose to proceed with the election of officers as the attendance was insufficient. He thought a further meeting should be called.
