In reply to a question about the possibility of rebuilding the Hikorangi Maori College, which was destroyed by fire about two years ago. Sir Apirana Ngata. in an address al Greytown, said he di'j, not believe in having too many instilutions in all parts of the Dominion, with none of them getting very far owing to insufficient funds. He considered Hikorangi College one of those. Although he himself favoured the centralisation of funds so that it would be possible to make better use of them, he had little say with regard to the question. The matter of rebuilding the local college rested entirely with the Hikorangi Trustees and the Diocesan Synod.
