CHRISTMAS PRESENT FOR LARWOOD

♦ — AUSTRALIAN LAMB TO BE SENT "BETTER UNDERSTANDING" CUGEI) (Received August 2ci, 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 28. Larwood is to receive a Christmas gift of lamb. An anonymous correspondent to the "Sydney Morning Herald" encloses a cheque for 25s to pay for the gift. He claims, as a fellow-cricketer, and one of Larwood's multitudinous Australian admirers, that there is real need for a better understanding among cricketers here and in England, and greater recognition of the generosity with which Australia is served in British markets. Recent events, he adds, are disturbing, and if developments are not stopped might have very serious consequences. "Surely never before has the hateful term boycott been used in relation to Australian produce," he says.
