REORGANISING THE CODES

SIMPLIFIED SYSTEM KI.MOt'US OF CHANGE FN DIRECTORSHIP < Received August 28, 7.50 p.m.) WASHINGTON, August 27. As the first step in the long-con-templated reorganisation of the National Recovery Administration, it is announced that all codes will be classified into four main divisions and 22 subdivisions. The four main divisions arc:— Industries involved in th'; production of basic materials from the soil. Those concerned, with fabrication of such materials into finished products. Service industries ranging from transport to amusements. Distribution, both wholesale and retail. For weeks there have been rumours of the reorganisation of Recovery Administration, including a change in the directorship. Today reports were published that General H. S. Johnson (Administrator) had actually resigned, as he was in disagreement with his subordinates, but this has been denied, both by the White House and by General Johnson. The general belief is that a board will eventually be constituted to direct the organisation, with General Johnson in an important position but not sole administrator as now.
