TROPHIES PRESENTED SECRETARY HONOURED The president of the Pioneer Motor Club (Mr E. J. Bradshaw) presided at a social at the club rooms on Saturday evening when presentation of the trophies won during the year took place. The following toasts were proposed:—"The King" and "Our Parent Bodies," the president—responded to by Messrs C. H. Taylor and A. Donaldson; "The Winners," Mr Parker—responded to by Messrs V. C. Browne and E. H. Buckley; "The Losers," Mr M. P. Jones—responded to by Mr D. Blackwell; "Kindred Associations," Mr F. P. Sprosen—responded to by Mr W. Price; "The Entertainers," Mr A. J Harper—responded to by Mr J. Laurenson; and "The Newspapers," Mr A. J. Harper. A first-class programme of items was given by Messrs G. Titchener, J. Laurenson, C. C. Richards, W. Bell, and Henry. Mr C. James was pianist. During the evening the members made a presentation to the secretary, Mr Leeming. Reference was made by several speakers to the club rooms now in process of reconstruction. Mr Donaldson said that the new rooms would be second to none in Christchurch. Prizes were presented as follows lot' events held during the 1933-34 season: V. C. Browne: Bennington Cup and gold medal for most points in open competition (21); Big Tree Cup and trophy for first 350 c.c. championship hill climb: trophies for first 500 c.c. championship hill climb, second unlimited championship hill climb, second 16-milcs open handicap beach race, second sealed handicap road hill climb, first 350 c.c. miniature T.T. scratch race, second two-day majorreliability trial (also certificate 999 i points); certificate first equal half-day trial. E. H. Buckley: Moir Cup for most points gained by private ownerriders (18); trophies, first novice beach race second light-weight championship'beach race, second six- miles open handicap beach race, second open handicap miniature T.T. race, first consolation handicap miniature T.T. race, certificates, first equal half-day trial, speed of 77.4 miles an hour. 350 c.c. flying mile. S. Loader: Wakefield Cup and trophy for first unlimited championship hill climb; Triumph Cup. for fastest hill climb by private owner; trophv. first novice hill climb: certificates. 99(i points two-day major reliability trial. first equal half-day trial.
