Electricity used in Wanganui and its environs is conveyed from Manear Shannon, which is situated between Palmerston North and Levin, There have been occasions upon which the supply of electric power has been interrupted from this source and Wanganui has been cut off. In order to be able to tap another supply when necessary, says a Wanganui paper, tests were made recently, and Wanganui was linked up with Arapuni, in the Waikato district. The result proved to be most satisfactory, so that the district supplied by Wanganui may be supplied with power from Arapuni, should interference with the electricity from Mangahao occun.
