APIARY INSTRUCTION IN SCHOOLS
DISAPPROVAL EXPRESSED (PRESS ASSOCIATION *BL»GBAM.) WELLINGTON, July 10. Disapproval of the instruction in beekeeping which is being given in primary schools was expressed at the annual conference of the New Zealand Beekeepers' Association. A resolution unanimously carried referred to "the danger of spreading foulbrood,, owing to the increasing number of. inefficient beekeepers, at a time when inspection work has been curtailed to an extent which makes it impossible for instructors to do thorough inspection work with the additional burden." The following motions dealing with the marketins of New Zealand honey were carried;— "That this conference expresses appreciation of the success attained by operations of New Zealand Honey, Ltd., and urges the Government to bring down legislation empowering the Control Board to regulate prices in New Zealand." "That this conference approves the principle of local control as being.the best means of organising the industry." "That the conference supports any endeavour made to stabilise the price of honey on the local market."
