IONIC DELAYED
TROUBLE WITH TWO STOKERS (PRESS ASBOCIATIOK TELtGIUH.) AUCKLAND, July 10. The steamer lonic, which bad loaded her Auckland portion of her cargo end was to have sailed at 5 o'clock last evening for Opua, did not sail because of the absence of two of the stokehold crew and their unwillingness, when found, to raise steam. The consequence was that the ship missed the morning's tide at Opua, and permission had to be sought from the Meat Board to omit the call at Opua and go direct to Gisborne. This per* mission was granted, and the ship sailed for Gisborne this afternoon.
