[ - , ♦_ KNOCKED OVER BY CYCLIST Mrs Ruddy, of 107 Harper street, was knocked down by a cyclist while she was walking across the roadway in Colombo street, Sydenham, on Saturday. She received head injuries and was taken to the Public Hospital, where the 'was treated as an outpatient. FALL IN TEA ROOMS Miss Cohen, of the Regent Tea Rooms, slipped on the floor of the tea rooms on Saturday evening and suffered a broken thigh bone. She was admitted to the Public Hospital. FALL FROM TREE H. Snelson, of 198 Hazeldean road, fell from a tree at Waikuku yesterday afternoon and suffered shock. He was admitted to the Public Hospital, and his condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory. BOY KILLED (I'ftKSS ASSOCIATION TELEGtUM.) GREYMOUTH, June 23. Thomas Lalor, aged seven, wps killed to-day at Kumara, being run over by a lorry. Unknown to the driver, he was hanging on the side of the lorry, and, on attempting to let go, slipped, the wheels crushing his head. Death was instantaneous. BODY RECOVERED (rEESS ASSOCIATION TBLEOSAM.) TE AWAMUTU, June 23. The body of Ralph Haliburton, aged 41, a farmer at Pokuru, who had been missing from his home since Wednesday morning, was recovered from the flooded Punui river to-day. Apparently Haliburton was accidentally drowned while using a makeshift raft to gather driftwood. INSPECTION OF RESERVE AT WAIMAIRI $ An inspection was made yesterday by members of the Waimairx Beach I rogress League of the reserve on Beach road near the Waimairi Surf Club. Those present were—Messrs T. Bona, R. Betts, T. Taylor, J. Aston, and B A. Johnson. A reserve area of more than three acres was measured out. Two sides of this area are already planted with trees, which are growing well, and it is proposed to complete the other sides by planting trees . It was decided to apply to the Waimairi County Council for 500 each of macrocarpa and pinus insignis trees, and it was resolved to have additional brush fencing erected round the roThe committee decided to recommend the Waimairi County Council to agree tof the reserve being called "The Waimairi Beach Picnic Ground.
