MILITARY PLOT IN GERMANY

Rumour at Doom HOHENZOLLERN HOPES rCNMED PRESS ASSOCIATION —BS ELiCTSJO TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (Received June 22, 7.40 p.m.) LONDON, June 21. An official of Doom Castle, in an interview with the special correspondent of the "Daily Herald," declared: "The former Kaiser will be back in Berlin before the beginning of 1935, perhaps as a private person, perhaps in his official capacity. "The- Kaiser cannot receive you. He does not want to say anything that would damage what he himself calls the best chance for the House of Hohenzollern." The correspondent asked what was meant by the best chance. Did the former Kaiser think the German people would call back the Hohenzollern family? The official replied: "That moment may come far sooner than you suppose, although relationship of the former Kaiser with the Nazis has always been bad. He has never met Herr Hitler, and both men have always refused to meet one another's representatives." The correspondent adds that for weeks the Kaiser has been in touch with the leaders of the Reichswehr, from whom he has learned that plans for a military dictatorship have already been made, for execution in September. [Friction between Captain Ernst Roehm, leader of the Storm Troops, and General von Blomberg has recently been reported, and it has been stated by usually well-informed correspondents that the regular army objects to the position which the Nazis have given their regular forces. The Stahlhelms, formerly the private army of the Nationalists, also apparently retain some sort of organisation; and they, too, have recently found points of conflict with the Nazis. Herr von Papen (Vice-Chancellor), who this week caused a sensation by his criticism of some aspects of Nazi policy, is considered to be more sympathetic to the army than to the Nazis.]
