SUNDAY DESECRATION

TO THE EDITOB Off THB PRESS. Sir,—l have been waiting for a "protest from a more able pen than mine about the incessant shooting going on all last Sunday morning at the Ashley rifle range. Surely the Defence Department ought to have a little respect for the day of rest. I hope others seeing this will protest as well, as Sunday desecration is getting a big hold on this country, what with Sunday excursions, exhibition flying stunts, and other amusements.—Yours, etc OBSERVANCE. June 21, 1934. [Lieutenant-Colonel S. C. P. Nicholls, O.C. Southern Command, to whom the above letter was referred, said that he knew of no shooting going on on Sunday at Ashley.]
