WOMAN and child as HOSTAGES

HETI'RN OF !I US BAND SOUGHT

(Received April 23, 7.20 p.m.) LONDON, April 23. The Berlin correspondent of the "Manchester Guardian" states that General Goering interpreted as merely protective detention the holding of Frau Segar and her child as hostages, in order to induce the surrender' of her husband, who is at present in England. Fie added that the holding of hostages was the last form of self-defence. The correspondent learns that Frau Segar's 20-months-old baby, political prisoner No. 53, is probably the youngest in the concentration camps. The woman is allowed a daily walk outside the camp, guarded by two officials.
