ONE DRIVER KILLED IN CRASH

A message from* Alessandria, Italy, says that Wedrazzini was killed and Nuvolari broke both his legs in the 120-kilometre grand prix motor race at Bording, which was won bv Varzi at an average speed of 136.8 kilometres an hour. Chiron was second and Stadini third. The English driver Hughes was fifth. Rain throughout the race made the track dangerous, and led to accident after accident. Wedrazzini crashed into a fence and was flung against a tree. He broke his legs and some ribs and died in. hospital. Nuvolari was neck-and-neek with Varzi in the fifth lap, when he collided with Varzi's machine. Varzi righted his car, but Nuvolari was hurled down a precipice. His machine somersaulted three times, and was smashed to smithereens. Nuvolari escaped serious injuries. Hughes was close behind Nuvolari, but he escaped disaster because of tine excellent signalling system. Minazzi crashed into the barrier and injured several spectators. Ferrari collided with a brick wall. His car burst into flames, but Forrari escaped with slight burns.
