LINCOLN-TAI TAPU SUB-BRANCH
The annual meeting of the Lincoln Tai-Tapu sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Presbyterian Church schoolroom. Mrs E. J. Cooke presided. The president reviewed the work of the year, which was considered very satisfactory. A successful dance had been held at Tai Tapu, the net proceeds from it and the sale of hamper tickets being SI2 9s lOd. The nurse's report was considered very satisfactory, the total of mothers and babies seen in the Halswell, Tai Tapu, Grecnpark, Lincoln, Ladbrooks, Prebbleton. Springston. and Broadfield districts being "hiore than 400. When visiting the homes, the nurse also sees the pre-school children, who are not included in the total. A vote o£ thanks was passed to Nurse Home and Nurse Garland (relieving nurse) for their very useful help to mothers in the large district under their charge, to the honorary auditor (Dr. Hilgendorf), and,to Miss Forbes, Tai Tapu. Mrs Cracroft Wilson gave a very interesting talk on Plunket work and the Karitane Hospital. It was decided to help in the guinea appeal for the Karitane Hospital.
The election of officers resulted:— President, Mrs E. J. Cooke; vice-pre-sidents, Mesdarrvf* G. Mcßean and R. E. Alexander and Miss V. V. Hynes; secretary, Miss Haughton; treasurer, Mrs I. W. Weston: committee, Mesdames J. Mackenzie. W. G. Macartney, G. Stoddart, J. Calder, Sidey, Hughes, J. Simpson, Button, and G. Greaves, and Misses Welsh and Marshall.
