INDOOR BOWLING SEASON

MINN'S RINKS OPENED

Munn's indoor bowling rink, Tattersall's lane, was reopened for its third winter season yesterday, a large number of bowlers taking part in friendly games during the afternoon and evening. The three lull-size rinks have been relaid on a new system, the result of a great deal of research and experiment., and bowlers yesterday were unanimous in their approval of its playing qualities. Mr F. D. Muirson, president of the Chrislchurch Bowling Centre, declared the rinks open. He congratulated Mr Phil Munn on the improvements to the rinks. ITe said that bowlers welcomed the opportunity of playing during the winter, particularly under such excellent conditions as obtained at Munn's rinks. He wished all bowlers a successful winter season. The new floors, which were laid by J. D. Arthur and Co., consist of layers of felt, covered with Hessian, on to which is scaled a surface of sawdust, dyed green. They present a very pleasing appearance, and yesterday played very fast and true.
