Shakespeare is more popular than ever in Berlin. Nicolai's opera, "The Merry Wives of Windsor," was recently performed at the Municipal Opera in Charlottenburg and now the State Dramatic Theatre will open its winter season with a superbly produced "Julius Caesar." More than 300 supers have been engaged for crowd scenes. The noted People's Theatre is also performing Shakespeare. One of its productions in the coming season will be "The Taming of the Shrew."
