TWO POLICEMEN KILLED HY HO MM

MADRID, April 22. After the 24-hour strike which was held ai a Left Wing protest against the Catholic Popular Action party's demonstration, several shooting afl'rays occurred. Two policemen are reported to have been killed when a bomb exploded in the centre of the city. A force of shock police protecting the office of the Catholic newspaper "El Debate" fired a volley early this evening, wounding a visiting English student. Order was subsequently restored. A crowd of 30.000 attended the Catholic Action party's demonstration, at which there was no disturbance. Several disturbances are reported from the provinces.
