{ HEAD OF RIVER RACE IN j SYDNEY } i SYDNEY GRAMMAR SCHOOL ! WINS (UNITED IT, ESS ASSOCIATION-—BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—CO I'YHIGHT.) (Received April 22, 8.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 22. The contest for the title Head of the River among the great public schools resulted in victory for Sydney Grammar School, with Church of England Grammar School (Shore) second, in a gruelling race. Sydney High School was third, and the time, 7min 38£ sec, was a record for the race. The weather was brilliantly fine, but a chilly westerly wind blowing against the tide made the water rough, every boat shipping some. There were 70,000 onlookers ashore and on hundreds of craft of all descriptions urging their favourites on.
