SUMNER ITEMS

.* HOWLS The final of the Manning Cup in-ter-club competition, in which the Imperial and the Sumner clubs have tied, will be played to-day, commencing at 2.30 p.m., on the Christchurch /;roc:n. The match between Sumner and Rangiura, for the Mcintosh Bowl, inaugurated this year, will be played at Sumner this afternoon at 2.15. Five rinks from each club will take part. The Sumner bowling green is playing extremely well, and the match should produce first-class bowling. It is anticipated that the green will be closed for the season on April 14. Sailing The Christchurch Sailing and PowerBoat Club will hold a race to-mor-row for boats which have not won a race during the season. Rugby Football The Sumner Club will open its season with practice games at St. Leonard's square this afternoon. A good muster of members is expected. Good Templars Mr and Mrs H. C. Ford are representing the Sumner Temple at the Good Templars' conference at Wellington. They will submit a report to the next meeting of the Sumner branch next week. Anzac Day A meeting of representatives of the local clergy, the borough council, and the local sub-branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association will be held this morning to make arrangements for Anzac Day.
