Alexander McCrae. aged 37, a showman, ar.ci Royal Desmond Capncr. alias "Wilson, aged 35, a salesman, were remanded to-day on a charge of conspiring to rietraud Thomas Whyte of £7O ss. Whyte is understood to have complained to the police that he had been the victim of a confidence trick. He was about to make a trip to Scotland, and the two nvn induced him to hand over the money by a pretence that they could change it into gold.
