BOOKS FOR CHATHAM ISLANDS

SECOND SHIPMENT HElNti PREPARED Boohs and other reading matter are still coming in freely for distribution to residents of the more isolated parts of the Chatham Islands. On her last trip the Tecs took four sacks full of parcels for distribution at Owenga, Te One, and Kaingaroa. The next consignment will be distributed at Whangaroa and AVaitangi, and Mr A. G. Sinclair, who is arranging the shipments, has already received parcels from places as wide apart as Oamaru and Wellington. Because of the holidays it will be necessary to make up the next shipment on Thursday. It is expected that the Tecs will leave Lyttclton on Tuesday. The shipments arc being made free of all charges, and persons desirous of giving books mav leave them at the oflice of "The Press." Cathedral square, or rail or post them to Mr A. G. Sinclair, Oxford street, Lytteltcn.
