MUNICIPAL BATHS
CUSTODIAN* APPOINTED Mr George Osborne was appointed, custodian of the municipal baths last evening by the Christchurch City Council. A long discussion on the appointment took place in committee, and on resuming in open council it was reported that Mr Osbcrne had been appointed for a probationary period of Ihrec months.
Mr Osborne has been attendant at the municipal baths since 1929. He holds the Royal Lite Saving Society's proficiency ccrtiiicaie. the bronze medallion, and award of merit, the New Brighton Surf Club's proficiency badge, and the St. John Ambulance first-aid award. He is 40 years of age. Miss Marjoric llreward was appointed female attendant at the baths from 29 applicants. She has been employed as relieving attendant at the baths and holds the diploma of the Royal Life Saving Society. She is 22 years of age.
