The British Government has recently bo cm in correspondence with other maritime powers regarding measures to abate the pollution of j Ihe sea and coast and damage lo bird and fish life caused by the discharge of oil from ships. Sir John Simon, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, speaking in the House of Commons, stated that as a result of replies received the British j Government was informing the! chief maritime powers of its intcn- j tion to raise these questions of oil! pollution at the next meeting of j the League Assembly. j
