A c omplaint was made at a nine!iiifi of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce that overseas vessels laden with goods for New Zealand from | west coast ports of Great Britain always touched Auckland first, with the result that consignees in Wellington and South Island ports had to wait at least, a week before they were able to land their goods. . A communication had been sent to the Hon. Alexander Shaw, chairman of the P. and O. Line, on the subject, but he intimated to the chamber that ho had handed its letter to the Now Zealand Shipping Company.
