AFTER SEVENTEEN YEARS
I hii;li; vksski.s \<,\in mkkt j In 11)17, three vessels, the White Star liner Ceramic, the Blue Funnel liner Nestor, and the Danish motor-ship Columbia were in port together at Sierra Leone. I It was rather a coincidence thai 17 years later ail three vessels should agairi meet, but the port was changed. They all met in Sydney. It is rather doubtful" if any of the I'JIV complement of these vessels were again on board, but if they were many stories of circumstances and activities could have been exchanged. Captain J. D. McCornish, a member of the New Zealand Expeditionary I'orces, who was wounded at Gallipoli was m 1917 returning to France, but is now domiciled at Cremorne, noticed the three vessels in port, at Sydney. I h . circumstances recalled to his mind the I!U7 occurrence. The Ceramic was carrying Australian troops, and it is quite possible that many Australian uigrtcr.'s will recall the incident.
