DEMAND FOR DITIES AND QUOTAS (■Received March 19, 7 p.m.) LONDON. March 18. The "Daily Mail'' says that extreme Lancashire members of theHouse of Commons demand immediate prohibitive duties and quotas on Japanese goods throughout the Empire. Cabinet is not perturbed, but the President of the Board of Trade, Mr Walter Runciman. may advise the promise of a certain amount of protection. provided manufacturers undertake to reorganise industry and modernise their business methods.
