Yollowlees wrote ollerinc, ,C 15 a year for the rental of a shed owned by the board in Charles street. The alfcr was accepted. The director of the Kaiapoi Technical classes wrote askmr; for financial assistance towards the class funds for (lie eominu year. The letter was held over till the next meeting. The secretary of the Kaiapoi I'nemployment Committee wrote with reference to the board's application for men and advised that if the board's letter of September lie). liK-io. was withdrawn, every consideration would be i;iven the request. The Superintendent of Mercantile Marine. Lyttelton. wrote advising that acting on instructions received from the Marine Department, he would visit Kaiapoi to-day about the moorim; buoy at Kairaki. The letter was received and the chairman and the chairman of the harbour committee were deputed to meet the superintendent. The chairman of the harbour committee reported that the dredge had worked ai; averni'e of live hours a day for the last month at the ebb and low tide at the junction, and there was now a Rood channel, althouph a few ndrtes remained The report was adopted and it wa.dceidcd to continue workmu the dredse in other part.-- of the river until Hie end of the month. It was* resolved that the remains of the old training wall at the junction be removed. The harbour committee was authorised to carry out repairs to the public landing. It was decided that arrangements ■-hou'.d he made for the board to visit Ihe Krook!mid'-- reserve.
